11th and 12th Grade
Mentoring Program

What is it? Strong 11th and 12th grade students are invited to apply to this outstanding opportunity. Students selected for the program will have the opportunity to give back to their community by volunteering in our tutoring and mentoring program for elementary and middle school students. Horseshoe Farm Fellows who are recent college graduates will support the high school students in their volunteer work as well as provide mentoring throughout the year to help students maximize their potential and to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them as they make the important transition from high school.

Fellows will get to know students informally outside of the school setting and learn about their interests and goals and develop a relationship with the students. Fellows can help students develop a schedule and a plan for applying to college, applying for jobs, and applying for scholarships and other opportunities.

How much does it cost? This program is completely free of charge, but with this privilege comes responsibility. Students are expected to commit to working hard with their mentor to achieve the student's goals.

Strong 11th and 12th grade students are invited to apply for this unique opportunity. Teachers, principals, and other community members also may nominate strong 11th and 12th grade students who they believe could benefit from the program.

Because of limits on space and number of mentors, we must limit the number of students who will be allowed in the program.

When & where? Mentors will work with students to schedule times to meet and to work together according their schedules.

How do I apply? If you are a student and are interested in the program or if you know of a student who could benefit from the program, please call 334-507-5537.
